Kelbis Nu was a male, Rodian Jedi Knight and part of Luke Skywalker's New Jedi Order after the defeat of the Empire. Studying under Master Skywalker and the Jedi Academy on Yavin 4, Kelbis was in service to the order in the years leading up to and during the invasion by the Yuuzhan Vong. Like his brethren Knights, Kelbis took up his lightsaber to defend the galaxy against their destructive conquest. Running missions for the Jedi Order to gather information, Kelbis' travels took him to the planet of Eriadu.

There, he learned of the Yuuzhan Vong's plan to invade the Yag'Dhul system and use it as another base of operations. However, while on Eriadu, Kelbis Nu was cornered by the Peace Brigade, an organization that had allied themselves with the Yuuzhan Vong and helped them search for the Jedi Knights after Yuuzhan Vong Warmaster Tsavong Lah called for all Jedi Knights to be turned over promising the safety of all systems that did. The Peace Brigadiers cornered Kelbis in an alleyway and was toying with him by shooting their blasters at him while he courageously faced them all, deflecting their bolts with his lightsaber.

But Kelbis Nu was not strong enough to stand against so many a foe and emerge victorious and it was only a matter of time before the Brigadiers lost interest in toying with him. Luckily however, Jedi Knights Corran Horn had arrived on Eriadu along with Jedi Knights Anakin Solo and Tahiri Velia on a completely different mission, and unaware of Kelbis' presence. However, through the Force, Anakin and Tahiri sensed that a fellow Knight was in danger and rushed to Kelbis' aid. There, the Jedi Knights were able to push back the foes and force them to retreat, but not before one of them got a shot off hitting the Rodian Jedi Knight. When the Peace Brigade soldiers had left, Anakin and Tahiri turned to help Kelbis, trying to use the Force to get him to hold on long enough before help could arrive.
